25.1.5.010 Speed Regulations

(a) No person shall drive a vehicle on a highway at a speed greater than:

(1) Fifteen (15) miles per hour on al highways when passing school zone while children are going to and leaving school and when the school zone is properly posted;

(2) Twenty-five (25) miles per hour in any business or residence district;

(3) Fifty-five (55) miles per hour on higways and open country or in other locations.

(b) In every event, speed shall be so controlled as may be necessary:

(1) To avoid colliding with any person, vehicle, conveyance on or entering the highway;

(2) To comply with legal requirements and the duty of all persons to use due care, and to drive in such manner and at such speed that he shall not endanger life, health, or property.

(3) The speed limits set forth in this section may be changed by ordinance of the Council.
