Resolution No. SI-R21-009: Tribal Member Distribution Authorization Act Amendment of 2021
At a duly called meeting of the Council of San Ildefonso Pueblo on the 24th day of May, 2021, the following Resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, the Council finds that it is in the best interest of the Pueblo to authorize and direct a distribution of available funds to all members of the Pueblo with conditions to encourage COVID-19 vaccination of Members of the Pueblo.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council hereby enacts the attached amendment to the law entitled, "TRIBAL MEMBER DISTRIBUTION AUTHORIZATION ACT AMENDMENT OF 2021."
TRIBAL MEMBER DISTRIBUTION AUTHORIZATION ACT AMENDMENT OF 2021
Section 1.1. Short Title
This enactment shall be known as the "TRIBAL MEMBER DISTRIBUTION AUTHORIZATION ACT AMENDMENT OF 2021 ("Amendment")."
Section 1.2. Purpose
The purpose of this Amendment is to authorize and direct a distribution of available funds to all members of the Pueblo with conditions to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations.
Section 1.3. Findings
Title 19, Chapter 19, Section 19.4.1.040 of the Code is hereby amended to add the following subsection (g) as follows:
(g) Due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the Members of the Pueblo to authorize and direct a one-time distribution to begin in June 2021 to members of the Pueblo with a financial incentive to encourage all Members of the Pueblo to obtain a COVID-19 vaccination.
Section 1.4. Amendment
Title 19, Chapter 19, Section 19.4.1.050 of the Code is hereby amended to add the following subsection (e) as follows:
(e) The Governor is hereby authorized and directed to issue a one-time distribution of available funds to members of the Pueblo as follows:
(i) Tribal Members enrolled as of April 30, 2021 who are age 15 or younger shall receive $500 distribution;
(ii) Tribal Members enrolled as of April 30, 2021 who are over the age of 15 shall receive a $400 distribution;
(iii) Tribal Members enrolled as of April 30, 2021 who are over the age of 15, who have been fully vaccinated and who submit a copy of their CDC vaccination card shall receive an additional $100 distribution; provided, that the deadline for submitting a copy of a CDC vaccination card is September 30, 2021.
CERTIFICATION
The foregoing resolution was duly voted upon by the Council on May 24 , 2021, at a meeting with a vote of 8 in favor, 0 opposed, 1 abstaining and 1 absent (Governor presiding and not voting) pursuant to the authority vested in the Council by the Agreement of the Pueblo de San Ildefonso.
